More than three dozen flights were canceled at Germany's largest airport after security staff went to press demands for higher wages before a new round of negotiations. The security workers in Frankfurt went on strike at 2 am Friday (0100 GMT) and were to remain off work until 11 pm on a warning strike to press their demands for an hourly wage of 16 euros ($ 22), reported the news agency dpa. Employers are offering between 10 to 13 euros per hour.
By midmorning 41 flights had been canceled and the airport reported long lines of check-in.
